yarn & Sage is against the use of ai and does not use ai in any way. many of the programs used now are flooded with ai but all art, writing, and assets are mine.
I have used a few non-ai stock images which are not mine.
Meet the Maker
I'm using the first person on this website. There's no “we” or third person bios here, it's just me. If something got screwed up, that was my fault, and please reach out to me.
I've crocheted for over 15 years. I started because a bad injury early in life left me broken, depressed, and desperate for something to keep me busy, while still allowing me to feel productive. I learned everything I could about crochet at that time.
After several false starts in trying to establish some sort of blog or entity I eventually reorganized to become Yarn & Sage.

Yarn & Sage first emerged sometime in 2019. I had spent 9 months working on writing the 57 page document for the 9 of Swords blanket. This is my first and best pattern, and you can buy it for about $10.
2019 was a hectic year for me personally, and the years that followed didn’t get any smoother. I didn’t get to build what I thought I was going to at the time, but I have lived many lives since then—
I was a beekeeper, a petsitter, and a small-town artist. I lost 90 pounds through diet and fitness, climbed many mountains despite my disability, and went to therapy to heal complex trauma. I also finished earning my degree in Horticulture.
I talk about many of these topics in the blog and more. I also talk about how art heals and the role it's played in my life.
